I’m Ian, and I’m first a 30-something husband and father to three kids. My interests are varied and I read Wikipedia for fun.
This blog is my space to recall and share my parenting experiences and hopefully make you laugh with me through some of my stories along the way. Being a dad is hard work, but we can find joy in even the most ridiculous moments along the way. No matter what, I will always love my children because they are precious to me and to God.
I like to parody myself along the way because all of the things my parents did that I swore I would never do or say to my kids I am now doing. So, if I could go back in time and tell my 7-year-old self that I would turn out just like Dad, he wouldn’t believe me anyway. Dad tropes are everywhere and some of them I find myself living out. Other times, I’ll challenge those tropes.
God, help me be the best father I can be to my children. Help me show them how much they are loved and how valuable they truly are.
